∞ (The Space Between Atom) \ Giuseppe Lama \

"The discovery of space, atoms, and the universe". This film represents his fascination with both our micro and macro cosmos.Discoveries have often led the human race to make giant leaps forward and into greater knowledge and understanding of what's around us; today we know more about the things we can't see with our naked eye than we ever did before, whether they are too big, too small, too far or too near. And yet, we've managed to discover the impossible and in the process, to gain a better perspective of who we are, and of our place in the universe.

The film was made just by himself in his spare time, and it was an effort to bring more attention to the problem of lethal and destructive remains of war, in particular, landmines and anti-personnel mines. He has donated this video to one of the anti-mines organizations for free. According to him there's not enough information about this issue in the visual medias, unfortunately this video had very little attention in the Internet. Now, he hopes many more people will be conscious about the problem; maybe some of them will donate or do volunteering jobs.

The short film BHUTAN is a very authentic, personal film. It is showing this mythical country the way Clemens experienced it. Over a period of 8 days in late 2013. It combines these pictures with the real life situation of explaining an exotic trip to a person who’s not actually there. The result is a short, intense film, right at the border between documentary and fiction.

He has always believed that there is in every trip a day or a moment in time that stands out from the rest, that very instant of your life that turns into a mental postcard and is almost impossible to delete.  But that instant does not necessary have to do with how impressive a monument is, the architecture design of a palace, the legacy of a culture or the aesthetics of a city´s landscape. It is rather the ability of its inhabitants to turn into characters, of a place to become a stage, and most importantly, when the spontaneity of everyday life transforms into personality, which makes each city different from the rest and sometimes we find it difficult to discover. The video was recorded in October 2014 during a vacation trip around several European cities.

As it says in the title - "Just a matter of time” - Time is all that matters. Daniel loves to break certain time rules in his movies - time lapses, jump cuts or slow motions – he thinks those kind of features and editing-methods give you a different look on our world, our behavior, on our species and the world we are living in. We are treating our surrounding like we are the rulers of the universe. But at the end of the day - the life-period of the human race is like a blink of an eye …

Mankind is always frightened of immense land, dragged of roads for miles, unknown forests, oversea journeys. He has constructed new buildings, has established new cities to limit his perspective and direction. These giant constructions made people enormously satisfied. After all he fell for its appeal and was trapped in himself. When he started feeling bad, he had already forgotten the nature. To remember, he needs to see behind the walls. Discover the earth and return to yourself.

Through this project, he experimented with the idea of representing motion through space to represent this movement in a visually interesting and novel ways. He is interested in the relation between a real life performance in a virtual computer world. In a way he sees the virtual sandbox as a way to play with this notion of limitless artistic possibilities and new creative landscapes to explore. He was also looking at the work of pioneers motion researchers E. Muybridge and É.J. Marey , who researched motion of the body through time with the use of early photography , splitting time on the photographic paper through multiple exposures. Through the filter of digital tools he wants to distil a real life performance into its components forms…

"Breathe Deep” is a film about a virtual sculpture that could only exist in the realm of the digital combining natural and synthetic, human and avatar, plant and machine. A dystopic female figure has become one with a pile of debris. She is a virtual architectural ecosystem made of gifs, 3D models, plastic and fake liquids. This is represented through a combination of live action video of performance with sculptures composited with 3D animation and special effects. "Breathe Deep” is a commission for the Denver Theatre District | Denver Digerati, 2014. The full length version has been screened at PS1 MoMA and exhibited at Bennington College’s Usdan Gallery.

With all the competition for our attention these days, it seems that people read fewer books, which is a shame because there’s nothing like the feeling of "getting lost in a good book.” Even filmmakers and film lovers can get inspired by a good book for its dialogue, colorful passages and intricate plots. That was the inspiration for this film, which is a comedic look at the demise of reading for the fun of it. This film was shot in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, in the interior and exterior around Mark’s home. Shot it with a Canon t3i DSLR and an iPhone 6. Edited in Sony Vegas Pro and sped up the footage to four times normal speed.

"Discover step by step” is part of an installation of short films that build an unconstructed cinema. Each film is projected on suspended screens, which facilitated in creating frame like structure across which the viewer could move forward. The idea was an experiment on transcendence and variability of the human being. One is in constant motion and change and this motion is evidence of life. A permanent journey and alongside it the unavoidable load, luggage and burden we all carry, featuring the luggage within two states the physical and the metaphysical. You might be empty-handed, carrying no bag or purse yet you carry so much.

The film was shot & edited "Letters" all in one day and with only one lens. Nicholas was hoping to create something that would be intriguing to watch more than once, so he wrote a plot that cycles on itself. The end effect is the cause of the very beginning. It's a loop. The edit runs pretty quick, so he hopes wherever people see it, they have a chance to watch it more than once. With such an international audience, he decided to focus on just hands [his wife's hands], insert shots, and pure visual action.
